I offer photography instruction at very reasonable rates. First, once you hire me as your photography instructor, you hire me for more than just "one class". I find students need to have more than just a class to get the most out of their equipment and learning. I really enjoy photography--I really enjoy teaching. I want you to enjoy photography as well, no matter what your goals are. Hence, I offer you a continuous photography consulting service, based on your wishes. Here is a suggested plan of action:
1) Think carefully about what your goals and the end products of your photography will be. For example, equipment necessary for creating 4" x 6" family snapshots is very different than equipment necessary to create 20" x 24" fine art prints. You may have multiple goals which require very different types of equipment, or techniques. In addition, I can help you set your goals and priorities based upon my experience.
2) Inventory your present equipme-cameras, computer hardware, software, etc. You need to make careful decisions about cameras, software, and hardware. I am not in the business of selling equipment--I have no ties to any manufacturers. If you do purchase equipment, I want you to get the best value for your money--especially in this economy. The only reasons to purchase new equipment is to meet your goals and expand your horizons.
3) I then assist you with creating photographs/creative composition, and shooting techniques. For example: are you shooting with the sun, or into the sun? Is there a distracting background behind your subject? Do you understand exposure concepts and depth of field concepts?
4) We will work as often as you find it necessary, when you encounter problems, or would like to expand your horizons.
5) Fees for my teaching work are/will be set on a individual basis. After 4 sessions of work with me, your next session is free!
6) I want you to enjoy your photography! My job is to be of service to you!
